Privacy policy

This policy explains what information AI Identifier collects, why we use it, which service providers process it, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.

Who we are

AI Identifier operates the identification service available at aiidentifier.app. The service lets people upload an image or enter a description to receive an AI-assisted identification with supporting evidence, confidence, alternatives, and related facts. Information we collect

Google account information

Signing in is optional for browsing and trying the public service. If you choose “Sign in with Google,” we request only the standard openid, email, and profile scopes. Google provides your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile image. We do not request access to Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, calendars, passwords, or other Google account content.

Content you submit

We process images, descriptions, text, and optional coarse location information that you deliberately submit for identification. These inputs may contain metadata or details visible in the content, so you should not upload faces, private documents, precise addresses, or information you do not have permission to process.

Identification and account activity

We may store the selected identifier, generated result, confidence, evidence, alternatives, feedback, credit balance, plan, and timestamps. Recent result history is also stored locally in your browser so that you can revisit it on that device.

Billing information

Stripe processes payments. AI Identifier receives payment status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, billing period, and the credits to add to your account. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number or card security code.

Technical and analytics information

We and our infrastructure providers process request data needed to deliver and secure the service, such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, error logs, and rate-limit activity. Google Analytics receives page and product-event data such as an identification starting or completing. We do not intentionally send uploaded images, descriptions, result names, Google account identifiers, or email addresses to Google Analytics.

Program emails

Resend processes your email address and the contents and delivery metadata of transactional messages we send, such as a welcome or service notification. These messages are sent from our program-email subdomain, and replies are directed to our Microsoft 365 support mailbox at cs@aiidentifier.app. We do not provide uploaded identification content to Resend.

How we use information

We use information to:

• authenticate your account and keep you signed in;
• process submitted content and return an identification;
• show confidence, evidence, alternatives, and saved results;
• maintain credits, subscriptions, purchases, and payment status;
• respond to support, correction, access, and deletion requests;
• prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, protect accounts, and diagnose failures;
• measure aggregated product usage and improve reliability and usability;
• comply with applicable legal, tax, fraud-prevention, and security obligations.

We do not sell personal information, use Google account information for advertising, or make private uploads and results into public search pages.

AI processing

For AI-assisted identifiers, submitted images, descriptions, optional location context, and an identifier-specific instruction may be sent to Google’s Gemini API solely to generate the requested result. Deterministic features such as color extraction can run in your browser without sending the image to an AI model. AI output can be inaccurate; do not use it as medical, safety, edibility, legal, or professional appraisal advice.

Service providers and disclosures

We disclose only the information necessary for providers to perform their services:

• Google: Google OAuth for account sign-in, Gemini API for supported identification processing, and Google Analytics for usage measurement.
• Amazon Web Services: application hosting, content delivery, logs, and private object storage.
• Neon: hosted PostgreSQL storage for accounts, credits, subscriptions, results, and feedback.
• Stripe: checkout, payment processing, subscriptions, receipts, and fraud prevention.
• Resend: delivery of transactional program emails.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not authorize providers to use Google account information for their own advertising.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Recent browser history remains on your device until you clear it or browser storage. Account records, credit balances, results, and feedback are retained while needed to operate the account, provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Uploaded files and operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for processing, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. Stripe may retain payment records under its own legal and financial obligations.

You may request deletion of your AI Identifier account information and associated stored results by emailing cs@aiidentifier.app from the email connected to your account. We may retain limited records when legally required or necessary for security, fraud prevention, or financial reconciliation.

Security

We use HTTPS, restricted service credentials, signed upload URLs, private storage, access controls, and payment processing through Stripe. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information.

International processing

AI Identifier and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, providers use contractual and organizational safeguards for international transfers.

Your choices and rights

• You can browse the homepage, identifier information, pricing, support, and legal pages without signing in.
• You can omit optional location information.
• You can clear local identification history from the History page or your browser.
• You can stop using Google sign-in and revoke AI Identifier access from your Google Account permissions.
• You can request access, correction, or deletion of account information by contacting us.
• You can use browser controls or applicable consent controls to limit analytics cookies.

Children

AI Identifier is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
